Amy Fix is a singer-songwriter based in New York City. Amy writes hilarious, quirky, earnest teen love odes to the girls she loved when she went to High School High in Anytown, USA. She's the wholesome poster-child of bisexuality.
Amy's CD Spoon won the 2002 Outmusic Award for Outstanding Debut Recording, and her hilarious song "Closet" was nominated for Out Song of the Year.
The girl next door is so queer!
Amy Fix is also a singer of healing songs and an inspiring speaker on the subject of overcoming childhood sexual abuse, rape, and incest. She has been a keynote speaker at conferences for sexual abuse survivors, has given classroom lectures at colleges, has held workshops for healing communities, and has given sermons at churches. In these venues, she sings her healing songs and tells her own story of being mercilessly abused and rising above and beyond it like a phoenix from the fire. She has an uncanny ability to present her process of healing in a logical format, making it easy for others to learn from her journey. Amy’s talks have helped countless trauma survivors and members of helping professions to learn in-depth about overcoming the effects of sexual trauma.
That's right, darlin!
How does she bring together such different subjects with such ease? The answer lies in Amy's lifelong ability to stay in touch with her joy and exuberance in being alive, and her sense of humor. She has reclaimed her innocence and her sexual self.
Dear, queer, and so sincere!
